Agricultural platforms tend to solve one link in the chain — an input marketplace, or a financing product, or a buyer-matching tool — and leave farmers to stitch the rest together themselves, usually through informal networks that are slow and opaque about pricing.

Zuma Agriculture treats the farming cycle as one connected workflow inside the platform's existing rails: a farmer can buy seed and fertiliser through the same wallet and marketplace infrastructure as any other Zuma purchase, access short-term financing through the same behavioural credit model that powers Zuma Loans, and list harvest for sale to verified buyers through the same escrow-protected checkout as Zuma Commerce. None of this required new payment or trust infrastructure — it's the existing ERP backbone applied to a new vertical.

That reuse is the actual point. Every new vertical a platform adds is expensive if it needs its own payments, its own trust model, its own logistics. It's comparatively cheap if it can borrow those from a shared core. This is the same conversation I have with hosting and platform clients who are deciding whether to build a new product line from scratch or extend what they already operate — the answer is almost always to extend, and agriculture on Zuma is a working example of what that looks like in practice.
